One of my many hobbies is riding my mountain bike in the many parks and trails in Texas. Most of the time I just ride in the mornings, at the park in Coppell. If you ride all the paths you can go for well over an hour and ride about 10 miles on one round trip. It is not a technical trail, but it is a nice park with long concrete trails to really get a good ride in if you are not looking to trail. I would avoid the park on the weekends, it is very busy. Sunday is not bad, but you have to get there early to avoid the crowd.

Other places I ride include L. B. Houston Trail in Dallas, Knob Hill Trail in Flower Mound and Northshore in Grapevine. Then there is Whiterock park in Dallas but I have only been there once since I moved to East Forth Worth. I am not a very technical rider and really just enjoy getting out and riding, most of the time I just ride in the park in Coppell.

This is my Giant Mountain bike that has served me well, needs a good tune up but still works great after 5 years of use.

This is a stock picture of my new Scott Yecora 05 I purchased to replace my Giant Mountain bike. It has Shimano disc brakes, Shimano gears and best part it was on sale! My Giant is still a good bike, will take it with me to trails in case I need it.

I also just purchased a new bike rake that fits on my receiver hitch. I was using a roof rack but with using my vehicle occasional with security, I have to remove the rack. So I went with a Sportworks TranSport T2 hitch bike rack, and a cost of $400 (ouch). Figured this would motivate me more to get out since I spent so much on the bike rack. I had some extra cash after selling a car, so I decided to by myself a Christmas present.

I recommend this bike shop in Grapevine, TX. Great people that work there and SUPER friendly. I went in there looking for a bike rake and they bent over backward to show me how it worked. I almost bought a $800 Cannondale, but figured I needed to buy my house first ;)
